Christmas is over

Christmas tree came down today desire the fact that it is still December, Christmas is now over on our house!

That said I am looking forward to the new year, lots of exiting developments at the YMCA and hopefully good news about Ella starting school in September. The routine of nursery drop offs starts in earnest next week but for now I am enjoying one last mulled wine before it all begins!

Next weekend I will update my blog again (my blog updates are like buses) with my annual top 10 of the year but for now can I just say......

Happy New Year

Kite flying

Sometimes the best photos just happen and from my perspective this is one of them, I took this on my camera phone on Saturday whilst our with Debbie, Ella and Sophie on the weekend. I love the kite against the blue sky and their position against the clouds,I also love Ella's upturned face looking skywards

Andrea Campanale on Nomad

Listened this morning to Andrea Campanale's interview on the NOMAD podcast. Andrea worked with us at Oxygen for a while as well as now being connected into the YMCA.

What Andrea is doing is brave, on the edge and missionally very exciting and so her interview is worth listening to. Check it out here:

Capped caped confusion

This week through all the rain and grey clouds Ella and Sophie have managed a few hours of outdoor play. it has been fun for us as parents is setting the way in which both of their imaginative play is developing. However what provided us the greatest amusement this week was when they decided to go into the dressing up box and then let their imagination run wild outside. After 15 minutes had passed a disconsolate Ella returned, when asked why so sad she replied 'I put on my cape but I can't fly, Daddy can you fix it!'

So begins my fatherly decent into daughterly it is capping her caped ambitions, tomorrow ?!
